“This is a great school for the right student. My daughter has been at Aldo for 4 years and has bloomed! SHe is, however, self-driven and is self-disciplined despite the lack of regidity in the school. It is importnat that your child can thrive in a chaotic environment. If so, the sky is the limit for creativity and academic acceleration.”

“Aldo Leopold is an extremely wonderful school. We love how advanced students get to take advanced classes and the teachers really meet their needs. We are 7th graders taking a 9th grade Algebra course, next year we will be taking the 10th grade Geometry course. Also, when kids are feeling underchallenged, teachers usually give alternative assignments for those who would like/need them.”

“The kids are not challenged at all in this school. It is a feel-good, non-competitive environment. If you expect a lot from your child, this isn't the place for them. If you want them to be treated like little adults in the alternative universe where no one has any responsibility and good things just 'happen', then this is definitely the school for your child.”

“Our two children attended Aldo from Kindergarten through 8th grade. The program was very good for them. Aldo does not have an A - F grading system and sometimes difficult to know how they were doing in comparision to standardized schools. Our daughter completed a high school entrance exam and received 93% out of 99%. Our son is now a sophmore and has never fell below 3.0. The school has very respectful students and the relaxed atmosphere allows children to enjoy learning and not dreading it. The only thing the school is missing, in my opinion, would be organized sports teams. But there are other local schools that offer athletic minded students to join their teams, so it wasn't a problem for us.”

“Having been a part of the Aldo community for 4 years now, the young adults leaving this school continue to impress us with their extreme confidence and rational. Principal Batey is a pleasure to work with and his leadership of this gift to Green Bay exceeds expectations. Teachers and students work together in a relaxed atmosphere as children learn to set goals, meet them and move forward. Acceptance from their peers and leaders brings their self confidence to great levels, preparing them for the realities that face them not only in High School, but their entire future. We implore any person who questions this school's principles to visit and educate themselves. We also suggest they visit the City of Green Bay Public School website and compare the scores of Aldo Students to the traditional schools scores. “It's everything James said. My whole family loves this school; this year, my niece is starting kindergarten there. At our last school, I got funny looks when I walked in, as if I didn't belong there and something must be wrong. Here, parent involvement is not only appreciated, but expected. I originally planned on moving to Madison for grad school, but my children's spirits (as well as their intellects) are so well-nurtured here, that I'm looking for ways to stay in Green Bay.”
